
BELL GARDENS, Calif. (KNX) –The man accused of raping a teenage girl was arrested in Long Beach early Monday morning, police said.
Robert Nunez was arrested at 8:15 a.m. after Long Beach officers received an anonymous tip from someone who recognized Nunez from a photo shared by the Bell Gardens Police Department. Nunez had been seen in the L.A. River area Long Beach Boulevard.
Long Beach officers responded to the area and found Nunez. Nunez attempted to runaway but was arrested.
The Bell Gardens Police Department announced a search had been underway for Nunez after being notified on Thursday that a 14-year-old girl had been raped at knifepoint. Nunez and Jaomir Perez, 41, were named the suspects.
Perez was arrested on Thursday.
