A man and a woman who were killed when they were struck by an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train in Van Nuys were identified Wednesday.
Bunny Martinez, 39, and Jessie Lopez, 26, were identified as the victims of the collision by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner's office.
The crash was reported at 9:29 p.m. Sunday east of 7600 Woodman Ave., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department's Brian Humphrey.
Humphrey said both were pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported and none of the passengers or crew aboard the train required medical assistance, he said.
The train remained stopped at the scene for the investigation, Humphrey said.
