OXNARD, Calif. (KNX) — A 52-year-old man was arrested after he reportedly went inside a US Post Office in Oxnard and declared he had a bomb in his backpack, police said.

It happened just after 1 p.m. Sunday at 1961 N. C Street.

Police evacuated the post office. Following a short standoff with police, Glenn Stombres was taken into custody, according to a press release.

Ventura County deputies searched Stombres’ backpack, but didn’t find any trace of a threat.
