LOS ANGELES (KNX) – A man was shot and killed in front of his family Friday in South Los Angeles while trying to buy a car.

It happened in the 109 Street area of Westmont, NBC Los Angeles reported.


Lieutenant Derrick Alfred with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office told the outlet the victim went to a car sale with his wife, daughter and granddaughter. He was then attacked by three men and one of the men shot him.

The victim stumbled into the intersection where he was hit by car.

The suspect ran from the scene. Descriptions of them have not been provided. Deputies did say the car that victim was inquiring about had been reported stolen.

The victim’s identity was not revealed.
