The House has a new speaker; he's a congressman from Louisiana, Mike Johnson, but do you know much about him?
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass knows him well, and in an exclusive interview with KNX News, she suggests his speakership might be short-lived.

Mayor Bass told KNX News reporter Craig Fiegener, "I was on a committee with him for years, Judiciary, but he was one of those quiet extremists, not a bombastic extremist like Matt Gaetz or Jim Jordan."
Others have voiced concern that there would be an 'election denier' selected to fill Kevin McCarthy's seat, and Bass said Johnson is much more than an that.
"He isn't just an election denier," she said, "He is one of the thought leaders behind not certifying the election. And if you just think about the role that the speaker is going to play in the election next year, I'm very, very concerned about it."
As for how her feelings toward the new speaker will impact her ability to advocate for Angelenos in Washington, the mayor says not to worry.
"My work in Washington D.C. has been straight with the administration because I know how difficult it is to get anything done through Congress. But we'll see...I mean, he might be speaker for 30 days." Bass said.
During a trip to D.C. earlier this month, the mayor made good on campaign promises to strategically use her 12 years of experience working in Congress to advocate for the city of L.A.
