
LOS ANGELES (KNX) – If you haven’t been to theaters in a while, Sept. 3 may be your day to go.
The Cinema Foundation announced Saturday will be “National Cinema Day”, and that theatergoers can buy movie tickets for $3, including all premium format screens.
The non-profit arm of the National Association of Theater Owners announced that over 3,000 theaters, including those run by big chains like AMC and Regal are participating, according The Associated Press.
"This day is for movie lovers across the US, celebrating how movies are meant to be seen, on the big screen," Ken Thewes, Regal's Chief Marketing Officer said in a press release. "We are excited to be a part of National Cinema Day, offering our moviegoers the opportunity to see the latest blockbusters at Regal, no matter the format, for only $3!"
AMC Theaters announced that in addition to $3 movie tickets, it will also have a $5 popcorn-drink combo for guests to enjoy.
Cinemark announced it’s offering $3 medium drink, including ICEEs, $3 candy, and a $3 small popcorn.
Participating theaters in Southern California include AMC Century City 15, Universal Cinema AMD at Citywalk, Cinemark Downey, Regal Simi Valley Civic Center and more.
