According to the Columbia, S.C., police department, people have been injured during a shooting incident at the Columbia Centre mall.
Police first confirmed reports of shots fired at the mall Saturday afternoon.
Shortly after, authorities confirmed that people had been injured.
“They are receiving medical attention,” said police. “The extent of injuries unknown at this time.” Officers have been evacuating the mall and getting people to safety since arriving at the scene.
As of 3:25 EST Saturday, police had not released information about the possible shooter or shooters or identities of the victims. Check back for updates.
