Robert Kennedy Jr. said during an interview on Monday that it was his father’s “first instinct” that the CIA was behind the assassination of his uncle, former President John F. Kennedy.

Kennedy Jr., the son of former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, shared on Fox News’ “Hannity” that the first call his father made after learning his brother had been shot was to a CIA desk officer.

“My father said to him, ‘Did your people do this?’” Kennedy Jr. said.

Kennedy Jr. continued, saying that his father then made a second call to Enrique Ruiz-Williams.

“His next call was to [Ruiz-Williams], who was one of the Cuban Bay of Pigs leaders who had remained very, very close to our family and to my father,” he said. “My father asked him the same question.”

Recalling the events after his uncle was killed, Kennedy Jr. said that he could remember his father also making a phone call to the head of the CIA at the time, John McCone.

“When I came home [from] Sidwell Friends School, my father was walking in the yard with John McCone, and my father was posing the same question to him, ‘Was it our people who did this to my brother?’” he said. “It was my father’s first instinct that the agency had killed his brother.”

This isn’t the first time Kennedy Jr. has alleged involvement from the CIA in the former president’s death.

On Sunday, the Democratic presidential candidate made an appearance on John Catsimatidis’ radio talk show, saying the evidence supported his claims.

“There is overwhelming evidence that the CIA was involved in his murder,” Kennedy Jr. said. “I think it’s beyond a reasonable doubt at this point.”

He did not specify what evidence he was mentioning with Catsimatidis or Sean Hannity.

While speaking at an event following the launch of his 2024 presidential campaign, Kennedy Jr. also talked about his plans for the intelligence agency if elected, saying he wanted to abolish the CIA.

“I want to take the CIA and shatter it into 1,000 pieces and scatter it to the winds,” Kennedy Jr. said, quoting his uncle, who said something similar in the 60s.
