Negotiators for SAG-AFTRA and the union representing the studios and streamers will return to the bargaining table on Tuesday.
The meeting was announced on Oct. 21, the same day SAG-AFTRA marked its 100th day on strike.
“SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP will meet for bargaining on Tuesday, October 24 at SAG-AFTRA Plaza. Several executives from AMPTP member companies will be in attendance,” the unions said in a joint statement.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the CEOS are expected to present a new offer that is allegedly “a substantial improvement from the earlier proposal,” according to Variety.
On Oct. 11, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers suspended talks, saying the gap between the two unions was “too great.”
SAG-AFTRA accused the AMPTP of using “bullying tactics” while union President Fran Drescher said in an interview she was shocked by what happened.
“It's not like we're asking for anything that's so outrageous,” she said.
“It's so wrong and it's so unfair that they walked out of the meeting, and so disrespectful."
Lane Parker, an actress and a writer, told KNX News’ Jon Baird the strike hasn’t been easy, but she’s ready in case the strike goes on a little longer.
“Oh, I'm toughed out, trust me,” she said. “I'm living with a friend of mine. I'm eating ramen noodles. It's all good. I'm definitely prepared for this.”
SAG-AFTRA has been on strike since July.
