Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) was hospitalized on Tuesday after a minor fall in her San Francisco home.
The 90-year-old was released after her scans were clear, Adam Russell, Feinstein’s spokesperson, told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Feinstein, 90, has struggled with her health as of late, raising concerns about her ability to work effectively in Congress.
Most recently, Feinstein was absent from the Senate for nearly 3 months as she struggled with shingles, Ramsay Hunt syndrome, and encephalitis.
Other Feinstein moments have also raised the eyebrows of those across the aisle, as she seemed to be struggling while being asked to vote in a committee meeting at the end of last month, and even earlier, she seemed confused, telling a reporter that she wasn’t absent after being gone for 3 months.
Still, she isn’t the only aging Senator to raise health concerns in recent weeks.
During a press conference last month, the 81-year-old Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) took to the podium to discuss the recent moves in the Senate when he appeared to freeze in front of television cameras and reporters a few sentences into his opening statement.
McConnell remained unresponsive, and Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY), who is also a doctor, suggested that they go back to his office so he could sit down.
Feinstein is believed to have returned to her home on Tuesday night. There have been reports on whether or not she sustained any serious injuries from the fall.
