
The sounds of distress were clear when the 911 operator picked up the call. The voice on the other end was young, tremulous, and difficult to understand.

"Mommy" was clear. And so was this: "my mommy's being bad. Come and get my mommy."
Police in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin responded and discovered a 4-year-old had made the call because his Mom was eating ice cream and hadn't given him any. Hear the call.
Police questioned him at the scene and he reported that he didn't want to press charges. All he wanted was ice cream.
So two weeks later, they returned and delivered.
While some thought it set a dangerous precedent, others applauded the move. "I’m not saying he right all I’m saying is I understand," Helena Hall wrote on Facebook.
See the police body cam footage where an officer told him gently not to call 911 again unless it's an emergency. He did initially insist on an arrest of his Mom for eating the ice cream, but eventually relented and said that she could stay.
