Dozens of people living in the neighborhoods of West Chester and Playa Vista met with LAPD officers to discuss a rash of home break-ins, which appear to be organized.
John Logsdon, a resident and public safety chair of the neighborhood council, told KNX News' Emily Valdez the thieves identify homes that typically sit empty during the work day, get dropped off by a getaway car, and then usually break in through the back door.
Logsdon said, "There has been 91 total break-ins since between October and December, and 75 of those were residential homes."

Logsdon is urging locals to take measures to protect themselves and their neighbors, "Having a loud alarm, like an actual alarm on your house that is audible and can, you know, kind of like a car alarm that definitely deters and having a dog, you know, a big dog."
He also advised people to befriend their neighbors and report anything suspicious.
