Trader Joe's recalls 60,000 bottles of sparkling water over laceration concerns

Trader Joe's is voluntarily recalling 60,000 bottles of popular sparkling water -- and it's not for the reason you may expect. There are laceration concerns.

Two lots of sparking water sold at Trader Joe’s locations in a dozen states have been recalled after the Consumer Product Safety Commission reported the water bottles that hold Gerolsteiner sparkling water can crack, and that could cause injuries.

Check your fridge and pantry! Affected bottles are the 750 ml size and they have a white, blue, and red label that reads Gerolsteiner. The affected lots are 11/28/2024 L or 11/27/2024 L, as indicated on the lower part of the label.

The recall includes water bottles were sold at Trader Joe’s in 12 states from December 2024 to January 2025 for approximately $3 per bottle.

Consumers who have the recalled water bottles are advised not to drink them and should return them to the store for a full refund. Contact Gerolsteiner at 800-777-0633 for more information or assistance.
