Shazam, a music discovery app that allows listeners to collect information on any song they hear while out and about is celebrating 20 years and they’re doing so in a unique way. A way that involves music (of course!)
Shazam has curated a playlist that features the #1 shazamed song of each calendar year for their entire 20 year lifetime. With tracks like Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister,” Sia’s “Cheap Thrills,” Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" and more, the playlist is a perfect way to celebrate 20 years of the amazing (and incredibly helpful) app.
While the #1 shazamed song of each year is interesting… it got us thinking. So, who is the most shazamed artist of all time? We’ll give you one guess…
It’s Drake, with more than more than 350 million Shazams. Wow!

The 35-year-old rapper isn’t the only one with some impressive Shazam numbers. While he may have the most of any artist, fellow musicians Ed Sheeran , BTS, Tones And I, John Legend and Hozier also have some honorable mentions.
Sheeran’s “Shape Of You,” was the fastest track to reach 10 million shazams in 87 days while BTS’ “Butter,” was the fastest to reach 1 million in just nine days. Tones And I’s “Dance Monkey” is the most Shazamed song ever while John Legend’s “All Of Me,” marks the top R&B/Soul song of all time, with Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” being the top singer/songwriter shazamed song of all time.

Congrats on 20 years Shazam — and here’s to another 20 of being there for music-lovers everywhere!
