Because of the chaos, The Washington Post says that millions of Christmas gifts are at risk of arriving late to American doorsteps.With 19,000 USPS workers either calling in sick or in quarantine and a 14% increase in mail volume since this time in 2019, the nation has been under a massive mail gridlock since December 12th.
USPS is receiving around 6 million packages a day!Mail performance has plummeted, too. Last year, 95% of all first-class mail arrived to its destination on time. This year? Only around 75% of first-class packages are arriving on time.
