(KMOX) - Some say the Super Bowl is the biggest sports day of the year and apparently some people think the annual championship game is even more important than doing homework.
A survey of 1,000 U.S. parents with kids enrolled in K-12 public school found that Missouri students are more likely to be let off the hook for doing homework this year than any other state. This is the second year in a row that Missouri ranked No. 1 in the survey, according to Brainly.

This year, 65% of parents in Missouri who were surveyed were on the side of no homework this weekend, which is a 5% increase from last year.
Unsurprisingly, the No. 2 state where most parents said their kids can skip homework to watch the Super Bowl is Florida at 64%. So the two states in which the competitors of this year's championship game are located – Tampa Bay and Kansas City – are the most likely to choose sports over school this weekend.

The other states most likely to let kids skip homework are Kansas (62%), Texas (56%) and Alabama (55%).
The survey also found that most parents in the U.S. aren't letting the Super Bowl be an excuse this year. Roughly 80% of parents say their child must complete all of their homework before they can watch the Super Bowl, which is about the same as it was in 2020, Brainly says.
