ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Winter look and feel over the region all day and into the night for Thursday…an extended event but again not a giant winter storm…a messy winter system…cold temps…day and night….the bulk of the snow and sleet gone by midnight Thursday night

The second system of this two-system storm is in play all day and well into the night…this is another system lifting out of the southwest and passing to our south…Arkansas…that keeps the cold air in place for us and close enough to push moisture into that cold air.
Here’ my break-down:
*** The low pressure moves over the lower Mississippi Valley…the moisture returns…pushing into cold enough air.
*** The prime time…let’s just broad brush it…today and tonight…the focus will continue to be Thursday afternoon into the evening.
*** This is not a giant moisture supply to work with…but with the cold air…there will be some travel concerns…but in the overall scope of things…not a big storm…just a cold and slick storm system…because sleet will be in the mix with the snow.
*** Total snow and sleet from the entire two wave system…so at midnight Thursday night will be 2 maybe 3 inches…again a mix of snow and sleet(ice)
Behind this system as it rolls to the east coast will be cold and dry Friday and over the weekend…below average temps day and night…but temps will be a little warmer Sunday afternoon.
