Powerball jackpot climbs to $670 million for tonight after Saturday's grand prize goes unclaimed

One of the largest lottery jackpots in U.S. history is getting even bigger.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot, an estimated $651 million, went unclaimed, meaning the prize will continue to grow ahead of the next drawing.

Saturday’s unlucky numbers were 28-38-42-47-52, and the Powerball was 1.

The cash value of Saturday’s drawing was an estimated $461.6 million.

Powerball officials said Sunday morning the jackpot had climbed to about $670 million and counting, which would make it the fifth largest Powerball prize ever, and seventh largest lottery prize ever, including Mega Millions.

There’s still a ways to go until the jackpot would become the biggest prize ever, as the biggest lottery prize ever won in the U.S. came in at just under $1.6 billion in January 2016.

The next drawing will take place Monday night, after Powerball recently added a third weekly drawing earlier this year. It will be the 40th drawing on the current total, as nobody has hit on all six numbers since the last jackpot hit back in June.
