UCLA–finally–has its basketball coach; St. John's doesn't

Mick Cronin leaves Cincinnati to become the next UCLA head coach. Cronin's departure makes WSU's Gregg Marshall the dean of coaches in the AAC. Former St. John's great Chris Mullin has departed as head coach of his alma mater. Mullin finished 59-73 and only coached one NCAA tournament game, a loss this year to Arizona State. Is it a bad idea to hire legendary players as your coach?
