All eyes are on the New York Jets at this point of the offseason as Aaron Rodgers watch continues. The Green Bay Packers quarterback has made it known that he wants to play for the Jets in 2023 but the sides still have to work out a deal.

The Jets traded young wide receiver Elijah Moore to the Browns for two draft picks earlier this week. While Moore’s former teammates aren’t fans of the move, it has led to some serious speculation that Odell Beckham Jr. could return to New York – this time for the Jets.

NFL insider Brian Baldinger of the Audacy Original Podcast “In The Huddle” has been hearing the OBJ to New York buzz and thinks it is real.

“I hear buzz about Odell Beckham Jr. is real,” Baldinger said (11:56 in player above). “Odell wants a pretty big price tag. I don’t know that Joe Douglas and Woody Johnson can afford him. But there’s interest. And they’re saying ‘Look, whatever we can do to get Aaron Rodgers in the building we’re going to do and we can only benefit if we just keep surrounding him with the elite of the elite.’”

OBJ missed all of last season after suffering a torn ACL in Super Bowl LVI with the Rams. There are multiple teams reportedly interested in the star wide receiver and the Jets are the latest to throw their hat in the ring.

Baldinger also thought that the Moore trade was a good one for the Jets, despite what some current Jets players may think.

“I think that was a good move,” he said. “In fact, Elijah Moore was a second-round pick. From Cleveland, they got a second-round pick back and they got a (third)-round pick in addition, so they actually benefited even though Elijah Moore has done very little in the league so far.”

The Jets received the 42nd and 74th overall picks from the Browns for Moore. Moore was drafted 34th overall in 2021 and made 80 catches for 984 yards in 27 games (15 starts) for New York.

Reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson is joined by Corey Davis as well as newcomers Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman in the Jets’ wide receiver room. Perhaps there’s some room there for OBJ now as well.
