
As the veto session continues in Topeka, the future of sports betting in Kansas may hang in the balance. A part of the massive budget bill passed by the Kansas House and Senate and in large part signed into law by Gov. Laura Kelly, was subject to some line item vetoes by the Governor. As the veto session is coming to an end, efforts to override the Gov.'s veto of Sections 72 (b) and 73 (f) of SB125 continue after falling one vote short the day prior. The vetoes affect the Kansas Lottery's ability to negotiate a contract with gaming companies.
