With the No. 43 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders traded up and selected TCU safety Trevon Moehrig.
While the role of safeties has evolved considerably in the NFL over the past decade or so, Moehrig looks to have the kind of game that should translate to the pros, regardless of his specific responsibility on any given play.
The 21-year-old defensive back arrived in the college ranks as a top-rated cornerback prospect, but he made the jump to safety with TCU and never looked back.
A Texas native, Moehrig made an immediate impact with the Horned Frogs, shining on special teams as a freshman in 2018 before joining the starting lineup the following season.
Here's all you need to know about Moehrig:

Jenkins arrived in the NFL as a cornerback by trade, with concerns about his physicality. He transitioned to safety and became an every-down cover man inside and out, shoring up his tackling along the way.
