Stephen Silas’ tenure with the Houston Rockets is coming to an end.

The team is declining to pick up the fourth-year option for the head coach, thus ending his three-year run with the franchise, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Per Woj, Silas will meet with Rockets GM Rafael Stone on Monday to formalize the parting.

Silas was hired in 2020 — his first head coaching job in the NBA — as the team began a rebuild following the departure of Mike D’Antoni and general manager Daryl Morey, which preceded the trades of James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

The Rockets went 58-177 during Silas’ tenure, including 22-60 this season, which puts them in the bottom three (along with the Spurs and Pistons) for the maximum number of lottery balls for the 2023 NBA Draft.

Among potential candidates for the Rockets includes former Celtics head coach Ime Udoka, Warriors assistant Kenny Atikinson and former Lakers head coach Frank Vogel, according to Wojnarowski.
