Professional bettor Mark DeRosa (@edteach23) joined the fellas on BetQL Daily today to talk about his 65-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl ticket. During the off-season, DeRosa believed quarterback Tom Brady was going to leave New England, and that Tampa Bay would be his landing spot. That led him to making the wager.

By the time his betting spree was done, DeRosa and a friend Zack White had roughly $20,000 down on the Bucs at around 65-1 to win the Super Bowl and 35-1 to win the NFC.

As for his big futures bets, DeRosa says he is letting it ride.

“I haven’t hedged anything yet on the Chiefs,” DeRosa said. “I’ve placed a couple of prop bets that I feel like are hedges and possible middles that are pro-Chiefs and anti-Buccaneers.”

DeRosa stated that turnovers really correlate to game outcomes. Here are the bets has made to protect his futures tickets:

Brady to Throw an Interception. Yes, at -130 and -140.

Mahomes to not Throw an Interception. Same thing, at -130 - 140.

Bucs to Have the First Turnover and Bucs to have more Turnovers.

“I felt like the prices I was paying for those bets were fair or even to my advantage,” DeRosa said. “That’s when you are getting the best of both worlds, when you can have bets on both sides of an event that is positive.”

Sunday’s Super Bowl will be fun for a lot of people, but DeRosa and White will definitely be sweating until the final whistle blows.
