Spring Break is coming up quick and we all know how Spring Break in the Pacific Northwest goes. Sometimes the weather is decent, but for the most part we are stuck with cold weather and rain, rain, rain. If you are planning on staying home this Spring Break due to COVID-19, consider these 5 adventures! Make a bucket list for your week and have some fun with friends and family.

1. Snowboarding or Skiing. We have had a GREAT start to 2021 on Mt. Hood! This spring season is going to be great with all of the new snow from the storms and it's time to take advantage of it. Mt. Hood Skibowl has a great spring deal going on right now and you can get a 3 pack of tickets for Night Skiing or Day Skiing at a discounted price right now at Skibowl.com. Mt. Hood Meadows and Timberline are also great options for different terrain, and all resorts offer lessons, rental gear and more! Try something new!

2. Hiking/Sight Seeing. I think as Oregonians we take our scenery and greenery for granted often. If you are located in the Portland area or even an hour outside of Portland, there are many gorgeous places to visit that you might have never seen! The best part: It's completely free. Consider these hikes this spring break: Silver Falls State Park - The Trail of Ten Falls (Silverton), Ramona Falls (Mt. Hood), Pittock Mansion (Portland), Cape Horn Loop Trail (The Gorge), Latourell Falls Loop (The Gorge), Smith Rock State Park (Central Oregon). Each of these locations includes easy hikes to walk and enjoy the views of our gorgeous state. Get outside and take in the fresh air!

3. OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). Remember how fun OMSI used to be as a kid? Well they have officially announced they will be OPEN for Spring Break with their "Dinosaurs Revealed" theme. Walk along life-sized dinosaurs with over 25 realistic dinosaurs at the exhibit. OMSI is taking many COVID-19 precautions and are ready to open to the public. If you have kids this is a great option to get them, and you, out of the house! Go to Omsi.com to get your tickets and schedule your time slot.

4. Fishing! We know our listeners love the old school day off, heading out with a pole and an ice cold beer. Take a day and take a trip to the Clackamas River, Umpqua River, Columbia River or Deschutes River this Spring Break and drop your line in. Spring fishing was always something I loved doing with my family at Timothy Lake on Mt. Hood. Make sure you get your tags and pack some snacks for the day.

5. The Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn. If you haven't seen this gorgeous place, you need to add this to your bucket list. Though the best time to see the bright colored tulips is in April, the farm will be opening on March 19th and is open until May 2nd. Slight restrictions will be applied this year and tickets must be purchased online. My favorite part about this festival is the structure of the plants and how they are placed! You will be amazed by the bright colors and great food they have to offer. This is a great time to walk around, taste some of their homemade wines, experience a hot air balloon ride and take some photos with friends and family. Check out their website for more details: Woodenshoe.com

Whatever you end up doing this Spring Break, be sure to take some time for yourself and get outside. Have some fun. This past year has been rough for all of us and it's time to make some changes!
