If you were awake at the wee hours this morning and looked into the sky, you might have noticed the moon was a blood orange color. The moon entered the Earths shadow and turned a blood orange color during a total lunar eclipse, the first in more than 2 years visible in the United States.
The moon also lined up in it's closest approach to our planet, and this is where the name 'Super Blood Moon' was born.
Some total lunar eclipses can last for up to an hour, but this particular event started around 2:45am this morning and ended by 4:25am. Did you catch it? Post your photos on the KGON Facebook page!
