Sharon Stone doesn't mince her words.

Via the unplannable veracity of going viral, a month-old interview with the "Basic Instinct" star, 63, resurfaced yesterday due to some offhanded comments she made about Meryl Streep — or at least about how Hollywood's veneration of Streep, 72, is not good for other female stars.

As Huffpost reports, writer Johanna Schneller sparked what she describes as a “galactic wormhole” when she asked Stone about a part of her new memoir, “The Beauty of Living Twice,” where she writes about working with the multi-Oscar winner Streep on the 2019 film, “The Laundromat.”

Schneller said Stone cut her off to quickly interject with: “I like the way you phrase that, that I finally got to work with Meryl Streep. You didn’t say, ‘Meryl finally got to work with Sharon Stone.’ Or we finally got to work together.”

And she didn’t stop there.

“The business was set up that we should all envy and admire Meryl because only Meryl got to be the good one,” Stone said. “And everyone should compete against Meryl. I think Meryl is an amazingly wonderful woman and actress. But in my opinion, quite frankly, there are other actresses equally as talented as Meryl Streep. The whole Meryl Streep iconography is part of what Hollywood does to women.”

True students of nasty film noirs wouldn’t disagree with Sharon’s next irked observation.

“I’m a much better villain than Meryl. And I’m sure she’d say so. Meryl was not gonna be good in ‘Basic Instinct’ or in ‘Casino.’”

Oh, and there’s more.

“That’s how we’re set up to think,” Stone said, referring to Schneller’s initial question. “Because I could never ... touch the heights ... We’re all labelled the Queen of Something. I’m the Queen of Smut! She’s the Queen of That! We all have to sit in our assigned seats. Are you kidding me? If we worked in a supermarket, she can’t always be the No. 1 checkout girl. We’re all doing our jobs…"

“That phrasing has been taught,” she concluded. “We’ve been taught that everybody doesn’t get a seat at the table. Once one is chosen, nobody else can get in there.”

Of course Stone admires the beloved actress, but she’s not wrong. She was just using Streep’s fame and unending media praise to remind people that there are loads of great actresses out there. It’s just an ongoing struggle to get Hollywood to give them props, not to mention good roles. And in between, she suggests Hollywood pits women against each other.

And while Stone could’ve put a little sugar on her Streep remarks, the "Casino" actress hasn’t made her name or her strong acting style on being sugary. And lots of internet supporters love her for her vivacious venom.

Said one fan, “adore Meryl Streep but Sharon Stone saying this kind of stuff is exactly why she’s Sharon F—ing Stone.”

And another, referencing a Streep hit, said, “the devil works hard but sharon stone works harder.”

The always confident Stone has a little history of elbowing Streep. In a 2010 interview, she offered a sideways compliment about Streep looking “like an unmade bed” and hence “relatable.”

“I look at her and I think,” said Stone, ‘I’m chasing my kids, I’ve moved my parents in with me, I’m coping with food spills — that looks like me in real life.” The star later clarified she was kidding. But those recent ones might suggest kidding just a little.

No matter Stone’s opinions, they have helped keep the star relevant into her 60s, as she also picking interesting projects in a town that makes it hard for older actresses to get interesting projects.
