Music has the ability to transport us to a different world, float through fond memories, tell stories, shape our identities, and most importantly, positively impact our moods.
A major component of Audacy's I'm Listening campaign is being able to look at music as a tool that not only helps further the discussion around mental health but uses the media as a mechanism that can quite literally benefit our mental health.
Southern California-born Destiny Rogers, certainly subscribes to the idea that music plays a powerful role in perpetuating happiness. The "West Like" singer has shared five of her all-time favorite tracks that serve as instant mood boosters.
Check out her suggestions in the video above, and listen below.
1."Big Bank" – YG
This is the bop that Rogers is blasting in the car when she and her friends are getting ready to hit the town. YG delivers the ultimate hype-up song.
2."Need to Know" – Doja Cat
When you're feeling yourself, Doja Cat's newest single is the way to go. Extra sultry and flirty, Destiny says this is her go-to when she's getting dressed to go out.
3."Tragos Amargos"– Ramon Ayala
This deep cut takes Destiny back to all the times spent with her relatives at "family functions." When she is looking to be reminded of home or feeling nostalgic she'll lean into the track by Ramon Ayala.
4."Supersonic" – J.J. Fad
An oldie but a goodie! The throwback song reminds Destiny of her mom when she used to get ready to go out with friends. Now every time she hears it she is taken back to a happy place.
5."Leave the Door Open" – Silk Sonic
One of Rogers' favorite songs right now, the singer proclaims it as "iconic, adding it's a sexy song that just makes me feel really good."
