
The long awaited sequel is finally arriving.
The first trailer for “Avatar: The Way of Water” has been unveiled which will hit theaters in December, nearly 12 years after director James Cameron’s 2009 movie “Avatar.”

Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana return in their roles of Jake Sully and Neytiri.
“Jake Sully lives with his newfound family formed on the planet of Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri and the army of the Na'vi race to protect their planet,” according to the IMDB plot synopsis.
This sequel is the first of four other installments in the franchise.
The new trailer shows off expansive oceans and stunning underwater worlds of Pandora as well as a battle against human invaders.
Along with Worthing and Saldana, Sigourney Weaver will be portraying their daughter with Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, Michelle Yeoh, Edie Falco, and CCH Pounder rounding out the cast.
“Avatar: The Way of Water” arrives in theaters Dec. 16.
