Not only will the Bad Boy mogul be hosting, but he will also executive produce the event. “This will be unlike any awards show – I’m bringing the love and setting the frequency at an all-time high,” Diddy stated. “The Billboard Music Awards truly represent the artists and where music is today, so I’m excited to curate the biggest live performances and surprises. The world has to tune in to see.” The hosting gig is a full circle moment for Diddy–25 years later. The Hip Hop icon won his first BBMA in 1997 for his multi-platinum album No Way Out.
As previously announced, the Billboard Music Awards will honor Mary J. Blige with the Icon Award. And of course, there’s a ton of amazing performers including Burna Boy, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Rauw Alejandro, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. This year’s leading nominees are The Weeknd, Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo and Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the next few weeks.
The 2022 Billboard Music Awards will broadcast live coast-to-coast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The ceremony will honor the year’s top performing artists on the Billboard Charts across all genres. Stay tuned for the BBMAs on May 15 at 8 PM ET/5PM PT on NBC!
