The clip was taken in the town of Kenner on Tuesday, when a severe thunderstorm battered the state with intense rain and wind.
Captured and shared by Twitter user @Brand12on, the 11-second clip begins with footage of the front lawn of the home from which it was taken.

The camera then pans quickly to a house across the street of the residential neighborhood.
The moment when the transformer explodes, a loud electric zapping sound is heard, and a blue cloud that looks like something from a science fiction movie can be seen forming behind the house.
The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of southern Louisiana on the afternoon of April 13, warning of large hail, frequent lightning, and wind gusts up to 70 mph.
