For decades now, the Northwest has been home to a rich and diverse metal scene. From bands like Metal Church and Queensryche who laid the foundation, to Nevermore and Himsa holding it down in the 90's and early 2000's to today's heavy hitters like Year Of The Cobra and Pound, there are so many talented and unique bands that continue to bring the heavy here in the PNW.
This Thursday (April 9th) is Seattle Rock Day on KISW, so I wanted to do my part and showcase 50 badass metal bands from right here in our backyard. Keep in mind that there are WAY more than 50 killer Northwest metal bands and that this is in no way intended to be some sort of ranking "best of" list – just 50 awesome bands to put on your radar and jam while you stay at home and stay connected.
