If the past 365 days are any indicition, 2019 is going to be an insane year in the world of wrestling. We're only 3 days in and we've already experienced the passing of a legend - R.I.P "Mean" Gene Okerlund - and have witnessed the formation of a promising new wrestling company - All Elite Wrestling.
Here are my predictions for a few of the things we will see in 2019....some of which are obviously a bit more far fetched than others.
- All Elite Wrestling will secure a TV deal with either TBS or TNT
- Braun Strowman will win a world title in WWE
- Brody King will win a championship belt in Ring of Honor
- Pentagon (aka Penta El Zero M) will sign with All Elite Wrestling
- Chris Jericho will wrestle for All Elite Wrestling
- Shane Strickland will have a match in NXT
- Matt Riddle will be called up to the WWE main roster
- Hideo Itami will leave WWE and return to Japan to wrestle
- The popular tag team LAX will leave Impact wrestling and sign with WWE
- Joey Janela will return to in ring action
- David Arquette will make an appearance on WWE television
- Brock Lesnar will fight in the UFC
- Daniel Cormier will make an appearance on WWE television
- The Rock will wrestle for the WWE
- Steve Migs will join the Legion of Gloom in 3-2-1 Battle!
- The Amerikan Gunz will hold the DEFY Tag Titles the entire year
- Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey will headline Wrestlemania
- We will see the first rain or snowfall at Wrestlemania this year in New Jersey
- Kenny Omega vs. Kota Ibushi will headline the ROH/New Japan show at Madison Square Garden over Wrestlemania weekend
- The Undertaker will wrestle at least 2 matches
- Hulk Hogan will make an appearance on WWE television in the United States
- Curt Hawkins will win a match
- Finn Balor will make a “heel turn”
