One of the biggest pieces of music news from this year is the release of Tool's first new album in 13 years. But some of the biggest music news from over the weekend is Tool's first 4 albums being available on all digital and streaming services.
To celebrate such a momentus occasion, here some of the KISW staff's favorite Tool albums:
Featuring "Schism", "Parabola" and the title track "Lateralus", it's recognized as one of the greatest progressive rock albums of all time.
The first three tracks are bangers - "Stinkfist", "Eulogy" and "H" - but it was the title track "Aenema" that won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 1998
The Late Kate remembers playing songs like "Prison Sex" and "Sober" on Metal Shop at KISW during a time when other rock stations across the country hadn't embraced the band quite yet.
The album featured new sound effects operated by drummer Danny Carey, plus recording techniques like the "pipe bomb microphone" and a talk box guitar solo.
Happy Rocking,
Taryn Daly
