Duff McKagan is releasing an album of pre-Guns N' Roses material

'The Living: 1982' will be available April 16th via Stone Gossard's record label

Although he's best known as the bassist for Guns N' Roses out of Los Angeles, Duff McKagan's roots have always been in Seattle, which is where his earlier band called The Living got their start.

On April 16th, he's releasing seven previously unheard songs on an album entitled The Living: 1982, the material having been lost over the years but dating back to Duff's time playing guitar alongside frontman John Conte, bassist Todd Fleischman, and drummer Greg Gilmore. The band's career, although short lived, is an important piece of the Seattle punk scene's story, and it's finally being told after Gilmore unearthed the recordings. After all, was Gilmore himself who went on to form Mother Love Bone with Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard when Duff moved to L.A., where he met Axl Rose, and we know how their respective stories unfolded from there.

Stone's record label Loosegroove is releasing these forgotten songs this spring, and to say we are chomping at the bit would be an understatement! Preorder the album here.

Happy Rocking (from a safe social distance),
