Seattle's local music scene is filled with some of the most talented and hardest working artists you'll ever meet, but many find themselves uninsured, underinsured or without proper access to healthcare. That's where SMASH and the low-cost or no-cost services they provide come into play, plus the incredible events they put on throughout the year to support our local musicians!
Considering just how much time is spent on the stage, in the studio, at band practice, listening to music through headphones... a musician's hearing is of the utmost importance, and Seattle Musicians Access to Sustainable Healthcare (SMASH) wants to help protect those ears. In collaboration with Hearing, Speech & Deaf Center and Clear Hearing + Audiology, SMASH invites its members to a hearing protection event on Saturday, September 24th.
The event will take place at HSDC in Seattle from 9am-4pm, where SMASH members will receive hearing screening and education, then leave with free high-fidelity ear plugs.
Not a member yet? You have plenty of time to join SMASH here! Not sure on the status of your membership? Email smash@smashseattle.org.
Help spread the word, Rockaholics, and share this event with your friends in the local scene.
Happy Rocking,
Taryn Daly
