KISW Metal Shop welcomed the 2023 Decibel Magazine Tour to El Corazon 6.5.23. The longest-running metal tour in North America. This years tour headliner featured Swedish black metal legends Dark Funeral, California's legendary death-grind-metalists Cattle Decapitation, Ohio's death metal rockers 200 Stab Wounds and the new comers on the block the indigenous black metal from Black Braid.

Dark Funeral are currently touring behind their seventh studio album "We Are the Apocalypse" released last year on Century Media Records. The first to feature the band's new drummer, Jalomaah, and bass player, Adra-Melek who were both great additions to the live show. Dark Funeral blasted through a 13tx setlist that included "Nosferatu", "My Funeral", "Nail Them To The Cross" and "Where Shadows Reign Forever" to name a few. Be great to see Dark Funeral and Behemoth tour the U.S. sometime.

The openers Cattle Decapitation and 200 Stab Wounds were fantastic, but for me it was all about my new favorites Black Braid. Instead of singing about dark themed devilish themes as always in Black Metal, Black Braid's leader Sgah’gahsowáh (aka Jon Krieger) explores his Native American upbringing with themes in Indigenous American mythology, Nature, Paganism and more. Fans of Black Metal and Metal in general have been obsessed with this band once exposed too. Black Braid are really a one-man-gang playing with Sgah’gahsowáh singing and producing everything. His debut EP shocked the metal world! His new EP Black Braid II out July 7th is gonna explode the scene, Check out these two videos and thank me later.
