Bad Honey

OFFICIAL BIO:
Bad Honey is an American rock trio from Seattle, WA led by Matthew Joseph (Guitar/Vocals), Chris Alfano (Drums), and Nathan Whitehouse (Bass). Influenced by bands such as Highly Suspect, Audioslave, Royal Blood, The Black Keys, Deep Purple, and Wolfmother, the band combines simple, fuzzy guitar riffs with big drums to deliver high-energy rock and roll. The band just released their second studio EP "Help Yourself" on October 22nd, 2021. Recorded live at the historic London Bridge Studios, where the walls ooze of Seattle rock-grunge history from local legends; Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Temple of the Dog. It's easy to hear how that memorable sound has rubbed off on the EP.
The band worked with Producer/ Engineer Jonathan Plum who has a long list of high profile credits to his name including Pearl Jam, Blind Melon, Alice In Chains, Candlebox, Brandi Carlile, and many others.

This brand new EP clearly shows how the band has evolved as songwriters since the release of their first EP Bad Honey in January of 2019. The arrangements balance wonderfully between heavy fuzzy guitar riffs and interesting sonic elements that keep the listener engaged. The EP was mastered by the great Brian Lucey, of Magic Garden Mastering in Los Angeles. Brian has mastered some of the greatest modern rock bands including The Black Keys, Royal Blood, Cage the Elephant, and Arctic Monkeys.

The Origins:

Back in 2015, on the shoreline of Connecticut, long-time friends Matthew and Chris were remarkably average guitar players. One brisk Spring day, Matthew decided that the two should start a band because it might be cool. Matthew, being only slightly better at guitar, secured his title as lead guitarist and made Chris buy a drum set at a garage sale from a local 12-year-old. Chris was then tasked to learn how to play drums in his Grandma's basement. Two weeks after setting up shop in Grandma's Jam House, they played their first cover gig. Thus they began to discover their sound, and eventually threw their bags into the back of a 01' Subaru Forester and headed out Seattle-way.

You can find Bad Honey tearing up the Seattle music scene with songs off their new EP as they are locked and loaded coming into the new year. Just follow the unmistakable guitar fuzz to your nearest venue and get gritty with Bad Honey.
