In the year of our lord 2018, germinating from Seattle’s no.1 rock n’ roll record spinning basement, the Screwdriver Bar: a lively bunch… CLEAN LINES were born. Halfway handsome, hardworking and rock n’ roll obsessed. Talented and tripping over themselves. Looking to win over fans with a raw rock n’ roll sound underrepresented in Seattle clubland. They may be Seattle’s only current rock n roll band? The band’s shows attracted fans from the fringes of the punk scene, the soul record-night crowd and the go-go dancing world. An atmosphere for stylish outsiders looking for loud live sounds. CLEAN LINES don’t quite fit in, just like the bands they love and just like their fans.
Early line-up changes brought aboard guitarist/songwriter Steve E. Nix(The Briefs) after seeing the band perform Sylvain Sylvain’s Teenage News. “I really wanted to be in this band!”. And sadly, health issues removed drummer, co-founder and songsmith of the group Kevin Fitzgerald(Circle Jerks, Geraldine Fibbers) who has been replaced with Nick Schultz(Boss Martians).
Described by their infamous PNW producer, Johnny Sangster as “brat rock”, CLEAN LINES prefer the term “quality”. They deliver some of the finest contemporary 70s style RnR/Power Pop on the market to date. Influenced by everything from The Nerves and Real Kids to Buzzcocks, Cheap Trick and The Heartbreakers (Thunders and Petty for that matter!). They don’t shy away from a flashy guitar lick or an ambitious vocal harmony. The song always comes first, after fighting amongst themselves.
CLEAN LINES consists of, Tyler Brey: lead vocals, Josh Dale: guitar/vocals, Steve E. Nix: guitar/vocals, Ricky Gonzalez: bass, Nick Schultz: drums
