AC/DC is going gold for 50th anniversary with special vinyl reissue

Continuing their 50th anniversary celebration, AC/DC will reissue a new batch of their classic albums on gold vinyl.

As part of the “AC/DC 50” collection, set to arrive March 15, the reissue will include the band’s first nine LPs, High Voltage (1975), Dirty Deeds Done Dirty Cheap (1976), Powerage (1978) Highway To Hell (1979), Back in Black (1980),  For Those About to Rock (1981), Who Made Who (1986), The Razor’s Edge (1990), and the 2-LP Live (1992).

The 9 gold vinyl variants are available to purchase individually for $26.97 each or as a bundle for $239.97 exclusively at Walmart in the US. Each vinyl comes with an album-specific 12-inch print featuring the new “AC/DC 50” artwork that’s suitable for framing.

Also, new colored pressings of Highway to Hell (orange blend) and Back In Black (black/white blend) are available to pre-order at $34.98 on AC/DC’s official site store.

As previously reported, AC/DC surprised fans with announcing their plans to hit the road for the first time in eight years. Celebrating their five decades together, singer Brian Johnson, guitarist Angus Young, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug will come together with Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction) replacing longtime bassist Cliff Williams for a 24-date trek across the UK and Europe slated to kick off May 17.
