For Pink Floyd fans hoping to finally get their hands on the remastered and remixed version of the band's 1977 album Animals that was undertaken in 2018, some movement can be reported -- although in a perfectly Pink Floyd way.

It seems there has been some back and forth regarding the record's liner notes that have kept the remixed album from seeing the light of day, but Floyd member Roger Waters has laid the issue out for all to see. "As I am banned by Dave Gilmour from posting on Pink Floyd’s Facebook page with its 30,000,000 subscribers," Roger's message begins, "I am posting this announcement here today and in full on rogerwaters.com."

"This is a small part of an ongoing campaign by [David Gilmour and his wife Polly Samson] to claim more credit for Dave on the work he did in Pink Floyd, 1967-1985, than is his due," Waters says. "Yes, he was, and is, a jolly good guitarist and singer. But, he has for the last 35 years told a lot of whopping porky pies about who did what in Pink Floyd when I was still in charge. There’s a lot of 'we did this' and 'we did that,' and 'I did this' and 'I did that.'"

Waters also says "about a year ago, I convened a sort of Camp David for the surviving members of Pink Floyd at a hotel at the airport in London, where I proposed all kinds of measures to get past this awful impasse that we have and predicament that we find ourselves in. It bore no fruit, I’m sorry to say.”

So, Roger did what Roger does... stir the pot. While revealing the new stereo and 5.1 mixes of Animals by James Guthrie is finally on the way, he also shared the disputed liner notes which he says David Gilmour wanted to be struck from the record over credit disputes. In his latest missive, Waters also said he has been hard at work penning his own memoir, which will apparently include even more examples of Gilmour allegedly claiming credit he was not due.
