Where Are They Now: Brad Cash

#KISW50
Brad Cash

How many years did you work at KISW? 6 years!

What position(s) did you work at KISW? I started as an intern for the Bob Rivers Show. I worked 3 or 4 years running Bob's board and doing weekend and late night fill in work. The last couple years were spent doing fill in work and hosting Metal Shop! Even hosted Talk to the Rock on Sunday when Kampy or Paul Kelly couldn't make it. Great times!

What are your three greatest memories at KISW? Hanging with Ozzy at Bob's Garage. Fishing with Chris Cornell at Jerry Cantrell's house. Running the board for my favorite morning show every morning. Right in the middle of everything!

What’s a story you couldn’t tell people back in the day? A lot of sex, drugs and rock n roll...

What band were you most proud to bring to a bigger audience? I grew up right down the street from Scott Rockenfeild of Queensryche and watched their rise so I always had something nice to say about them... and I never miss a chance to put on some Alice in Chains.

How has Seattle changed the most? I sure wish I still had my little bungalow house in West Seattle haha. Miss the Sonics!

What’s something you never thought you’d see? Having my girlfriend working at KISW and being such a big part of everything. I'm super proud of her and I love that it keeps me connected to my favorite station to this day.

What’s your best memory of meeting a rock star? My favorite musician of them all is Geddy Lee of RUSH and when he came in to promote his solo effort I had my first chance to meet him! I humiliated myself when wished him a Merry Christmas and he reminded me that he is Jewish! I knew that, but pulled a Chris Farley.

Who was your best friend at the station back in the day? I gained many many things from multiple people there. Kampy was a great man. Bob was so good to me. I learned a lot with Rockfish...and learned many tricks from Joe Bryant.
But I had the most laughs and good times with Spike O'Neill.

Name a KISW band you still love! AIC

Favorite concert from your time at KISW? Taking buses full of Pink Floyd fans to Vancouver BC! Handing out "Fight Hate" buttons 3 nights in a row for PJ at Mercer Arena.

What was your most memorable band interview? Gene Simmons pulling M&Ms out of a wine glass with his tongue...or presenting Dave Neihaus with 3,000+ baseballs in the studio!

What's Brad Cash up to now? He's the Brad half of the Brad & John Show on Classic Rock 92.9 KISM in Bellingham. And he's the husband of KISW's night host Taryn Daly.
