
If you go back and listen to early records from The Black Keys, the first thing you’ll notice is the blues influence on their sound. Now, they’re returning to their roots and will be releasing an album made up entirely of blues covers.

Delta Kream will mark the newest album from The Black Keys as the band is set to treat fans to an 11-song record of blues covers.
The album honors Mississippi Hill Country blues artists including John Lee Hooker, R.L. Burnside, David “Junior” Kimbrough, Fred McDowell, and more, who all inspired The Black Keys.
Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach shared a preview of the album’s opening track “Crawling Kingsnake,” a blues standard that was popularized by John Lee Hooker.
Delta Kream is set to be released on May 14.
