Speaking with Mojo Magazine about his forthcoming live dates set to begin overseas this week, with multiple dates also planned in Los Angeles and New York City this fall, the former Pink Floyd member admits there are a few iconic Floyd songs that won’t be making his setlist.

“There are songs from the past that I no longer feel comfortable singing,” Gilmour admits. “I love ‘Run Like Hell,’" he says of the classic track from 1979's The Wall. "I loved the music I created for it, but all that ‘You’d better run, run, run ….’ I now find that all rather, I don’t know… a bit terrifying and violent,” he explains.

‘Another Brick In The Wall’ is another one I shan’t be doing,” he adds. “I don’t think I’ve done that with my own band, but I certainly did it in the post-Roger Pink Floyd, against my better judgment.”

Also not included on his upcoming solo outing, is the band’s Dark Side Of The Moon classic, “Money.” "I won’t be doing that," he says. "I’m going to be sticking with the ones that are essentially my music, and I feel some ownership of," he says, which means fan-favorites like "Comfortably Numb," "Wish You Were Here," and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" could "maybe" make the cut. More tracks from the Gilmour-branded albums A Momentary Lapse Of Reason and The Division Bell, could also be included on his upcoming setlists, as well as selections from Gilmour’s solo work of course.

David Gilmour begins his 2024 solo dates in support of his new solo album, Luck And Strange, this Friday, September 27. Take a look at his full list of dates and grab your tickets below.
