According to multiple reports, Puddle Of Mudd’s Wes Scantlin, 52, was pulled over at the end of July for a traffic stop in Burbank, CA and refused arrest when authorities received an outstanding warrant notice for the singer, who apparently was wanted for carrying a weapon at an airport.

When asked to step out of his vehicle, he allegedly refused, necessitating a crisis negotiator, and later a bit of pepper spray.

Billboard reports the frontman has had “numerous run-ins with the law over the years,” and says a team of SWAT officers was brought in at 4AM to assist in removing Scantlin from his Hummer H2, breaking the window and hitting him with pepper balls in an effort to help pry him out.

After being treated at a local hospital for any injuries, Scantlin was booked for resisting arrest as well as his outstanding warrant and has a court date scheduled for August 20.

In 2017 Scantlin was arrested for allegedly attempting to bring a BB gun on a plane; in 2016 for felony vandalism; in 2015 for his second DUI in a month; and in 2012 for public intoxication following an altercation with a flight attendant.
