On a recent episode of his podcast, Let’s Go with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, retired quarterback Tom Brady said that Janet Jackson’s infamous wardrobe malfunction at Super Bowl XXXVIII was actually “probably was a good thing” for the NFL.”

Well that’s great to hear because it certainly wasn’t a good thing for Jackson!

Super Bowl XXXVIII saw the New England Patriots defeat the Carolina Panthers 32-29, Brady’s second Super Bowl championship.

Though Brady recalled that he “didn’t see much” of the incident at the time, he believed it was a good thing for the NFL, because it brought more views to the league.

Brady said, “I think in the end, it was probably a good thing for the NFL because everyone got to talk about it, and it was just more publicity and more publicity for halftime shows. Is any publicity bad publicity? That's what they say, so, who knows?”

Per PEOPLE, Brady remembers reports asking him about the incident, but he had no real answers to offer because he was “too focused on the game.”

"[The media was] asking me about that," Brady recalled. "I couldn't even understand what they were telling me about.

They said, 'Did you see the halftime show?' and I said, 'I didn't see anything.' I was thinking about the game."
