MERRIAM, Kan. — A 9-month-old baby was found safe inside a stolen vehicle after a police chase that began Wednesday morning and ended about six miles away.
The baby was alone inside a vehicle when it was stolen outside a business in the 5100 block of Merriam Drive, Merriam police said.
Merriam officers initiated a chase around 8:50 a.m. The vehicle, with the baby inside, was found around the 1800 block of State Line Road.
The suspected thief is described as a white male with a beard, in his late 20s. He may have been tailed by someone in a black pickup truck, police said.
