As the Kansas City Chiefs focus their attention on this Sunday's AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots, one of their former players is looking for a new opportunity.
The team cut runningback Kareem Hunt after a video surfaced of him assaulting a young woman outside a hotel room in Cleveland.
The Chicago Bears are reportedly interested in the athletic back out of Toledo.
"Obviously, there's a lot of things off the field that he's got to take care of," said Ryan Pace, Bears General Manager. "I don't know Kareem, but those things are all going to have to play out."
Bears head coach Matt Nagy has a history with the troubled player. He served as offensive coordinator with the Chiefs from 2016-2017.
"It's a tough situation, making sure he's okay, but understanding too that the situation that happened is unfortunate for everybody, and he knows that," Nagy said.
Nagy told reporters that he has spoken with Hunt, but they did not discuss football.
