Kansas City, MO - As the winners of the Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs picked last in the first round of the NFL draft.  And the team chose a standout running back from LSU.

The Chiefs used its pick to select Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who was  a member of the undefeated 2019 LSU Tigers team that won the the 2020 College Football Playoff national championship.

From 610 Sports Radio:

The Chiefs get a running back that is hard to bring down and might be the best "fit" in the system for Andy Reid.  Patrick Mahomes has a weapon for the future in Clyde Edwards-Helaire.  Not only did he have an impressive 6.6 yards per carry last year at LSU but added 55 catches out of the backfield.  He is the type of back that can be left in all downs and he can block, catch and run which really is the perfect fit for this high powered offense.
In the national title game against Clemson he had 110 yards rushing for a whopping 6.9 yards per carry and 5 catches for 54 yards.
He led LSU in all purpose yards in 2018.  His 1,414 yards are third most rushing in LSU history.  He led the SEC in rushing touchdowns this past season with 16.  He finished 2nd in the SEC this year in rushing yards.
