"Those seats hold so many memories for me."
A Kansas City woman is making a plea to the Chiefs for a pair of seats in the upper deck of Arrowhead Stadium.
Every year since 1991, Kayla Ross' parents sat in Section 332, row 1, seats 11 and 12. They held onto those seats through four out-of-state moves, returning for every home opener.
In 2010, Ross' dad died unexpectedly from an aortic dissection.
"My memory was just going there with my dad. Now that he's passed, I think of him when I'm screaming my head off at Arrowhead," Ross said. "I feel him the most when I'm sitting in those seats."
When she found out the Chiefs were planning to renovate the stadium, she emailed the franchise, hoping to get those seats. Ross told KMBZ's Dana and Parks that she had not heard back from the team as of Thursday.
Ross posted her email on Twitter, where it had been retweeted more than 4,500 times as of Friday morning.
"After my dad's death, the Kansas City Chiefs were not just a team to us anymore, but a reminder of my dad's huge smile, loud knee-slapping laugh and crazy loyal passion," she wrote.
Even if she can't have the seats, she says she would love to have the seat number plaques.
